Updates At the Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology

Posted on October 26, 2021 09:03 AM by elyons

To celebrate getting back to “normal” and having agtech startups work in-person at the Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology (WGCIT) more often, there have been a few fun upgrades at the space.

First, the directory in the lobby of the Taylor Farms building has been updated to guide people to Suite 130: Western Growers CIT.

Second, an agtools produce commodity ticker now runs in the WGCIT continuously, on the main screen. Agtools, a long-time resident of the WGCIT, installed their ‘AgCapture’ solution—a digital streaming and display service for regularly updated commodity specific information provided by the agtools system. Customers select the data variables to display on a rotating series of dashboards. AgCapture provides a convenient visualization format for departments that relay on current data for critical business decisions.

Third, promotional pieces for our newly-revamped Voices of the Valley Podcast are spread around the WGCIT. Podcast hosts Dennis Donohue (the director of the WCGIT!) and Candace Wilson and their guests (many of whom are WGCIT startups!) are covering current innovations being implemented on the farm, the practical application of these inventions, and how to take this information to improve a farm’s bottom line.

If you are in Salinas, stop by the WGCIT to check out our latest additions!
