Mitsui Chemicals Inc. Visits WGCIT

On Tuesday, March 29, 2016, the Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology had a special visit from UC Davis, Mitsui Chemicals Inc. and the Monterey County Farm Bureau.
Representatives from California Institute of Food and Agricultural Research, UC Davis—including Executive Director Sharon Shoemaker and Advisor Minos Athanassiadis— and UC Davis Foundation Trustee Emeritus Cheryl Harrison brought a guest delegation from Mitsui Chemicals Inc. to tour and have lunch at the WGCIT. Mitsui Chemicals is a leading manufacturer and supplier of value added specialty chemicals, plastics and materials for the automotive, healthcare, packaging, agricultural, building, and semiconductor and electronics markets.
During the visit, WGCIT Consulting Manager Lisa Dobbins and Monterey County Farm Bureau Executive Director Norm Groot and Consultant James Lugg shared insight about local industry needs and the benefits of joining the Center. Members of the delegation also shared information about their company, including the benefits of their flexible film technology.
